Daily Slacker: Audio-Visual EditionThe Daily Slacker

Audio: 10,000 Wists in the Air

Thursday, February 02, 2006

Ok, so there won't actually be 10,000 wists today, I just listened to the new Disturbed CD and blatantly stole the title from that. Deal with it ;O) Anyway, now that I'm done with that, it's time to click random and let the wist begin!

How do you participate in Wednesday Wist? You take whatever music player you use, put it on shuffle, grab the first 5 songs and write what that song makes you remember. If it's a new song...and you can't relate it to a memory....do you like it? Leave a comment if you do it on your site and if you don't have a site, comment your wist here! Oh...and feel free to comment about my songs as well!!!

Disturbed - Fear:
"Reject, Are you no one? Fear you nothing? You know I'll bet you think, You have a good reason to be living, In the limelight of the fortunate ones."
-OK I just finish one Disturbed CD and the first random song it decides to give me a is a song off of one of their older albums. I even made sure it was random heh. Anyway, good music to start the morning with, get the energy moving a little bit. Though, since I still do have to work with Idiot Boss, I probably need to be careful that I don't get too pumped up and want to kick his ass :O)

Aerosmith - Come Together:
"Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly. He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller. He got hair down to his knee. Got to be a joker he just do what he please."
-The original is always the best, but this is one of those songs that's pretty good no matter who does it. I think through all of my CDs I have this song done by four different bands. Good song but it really doesn't bring anything to mind...

Clint Black - Put Yourself in My Shoes:
"Put yourself in my shoes, Walk a mile for me. I'll put myself in your shoes, Maybe then we'd see. That if you put yourself in my shoes, You'd have some sympathy. And if I could only put myself in your shoes, I'd walk right back to me."
-Pretty typical Country :O) It's the plea of the desperate, see things from their perspective. We've all been there. The problem is that if they left, they probably never saw things they way you did anyway and they're probably not going to start or they're just not going to try.

Prince (Well, o(+> or something like that at the time) - Love to the 9's:
"Don't use that magical, mysterious, Intoxicating joy, fantastic, fascinating Word called love Unless u love me 2 the 9's. This is the only kind of love That I've been dreaming of The kind of love that takes away. Ur body, mind, and soul. Love 2 the 9's, baby. I wanna b loved 2 the 9's."
-I have met the guy a couple times and despite the fact he's one of the littlest men I've ever met he's pretty cool. I was pissed at him for a while because he was going to be filming a new years special at his recording studio here in the Twin Cities and have fans be the ones dancing around, but left hundreds of his fans out in the freezing cold with no explanation. And no apologizing until way after the fact as well. Turns out it was because Lenny Kravitz decided to come 5-6 hours late. Hey Lenny, You suck.

*House of Pain - Jump around was previously Wisted, being skipped*

Rednex - Hittin' the Hay:
"You better hold on tight when we go hittin the hay, You better hold on tight and pray. You better hold on tight cause we go hittin the hay, or darling better run cause I won't hold back my horses"
-Mix banjo hoe down country music with techno and mix in some funny ass lyrics and you get Rednex. I found this group in High School after one of their songs "Cotton Eye Joe" was all popular. Come to find out, the other songs were just about as good, yet even more funny. this was another CD I would crank on the stereo system that cost more than the car it was in... hehe

Ok! There you all go, another Wist in the books, I hope you enjoyed it! Lemme know what you think!
